We survived Halloween! We had planned to watch a movie but the doorbell kept ringing like every 2 seconds! So we decided to sit by the stairs and wait there instead. It seemed like the costume of choice this year was ninja for boys and witch for girls. Not a lot of monsters or ghosts like other years. But the most creative one I saw was a kid dressed like Larry King. Cool, he had the tie, the suspenders, and the glasses. All he needed was the microphone - I guess it would have been hard to carry with the gigantic bag of candy he already had!

Oh, I'm in an etsy treasury!
Banou made this amazing treasury and included me in it!

Halloween Y'all

I think that the scariest part of Halloween is running out of candy. I know, it happened to us last year. Even after getting a ton of candy, we had to turn the lights off way before 9. The doorbell still rang about 10 times after that. My kids still hadn't come back from their trick-o-treating! How did that happen? Still don't know.
So this year I bought a ridiculous amount of candy and my husband is getting another couple of bags, as a back up, just in case. Only time will tell if our strategies will work. Yes, we have strategies...one chocolate item, one lollipop, and a filler. Three items per kid! No more, no less. I'll keep you posted.

Chinese Lessons?

So having a Chinese last name can be a little confusing to some people. I acquired mine by marriage. Its funny to see the look on people's faces when they realize that although I may look a little, very little, twice removed, if you wink and stand on one foot, Chinese; I only have the last name. In fact, I couldn't be further even if I tried. But don't get me wrong. I love the Chinese culture, and some day, I'll even visit that wonderful country. Ok, I love the food most of all. But for now, I would be happy with knowing the language. I'll tell you why. Telemarketers. I wish I could understand what they are offering me. I'm sure its not a million dollars. But It would be so much fun to say "I'm sorry, but the lady of the house is not here at the moment. She has a meeting at the White House" or maybe "She can only take calls on Mondays at the looney house" Oh, that would be so much fun! I think I see Chinese lessons in my future.

On another note, I figured out how to add my favorite Etsy shops to my page! yay me! Here are some of them so far.

I am not a writer

No sir, I'm not. I write only what is necessary; shopping lists, notes to teachers, signatures on receipts - yes, you're using a pen -, employment forms. But I have been encouraged by my good friends to start blogging. After all, I've had this account for a while now and have only added pictures. Hey, a picture says 1000 words; there you go! Who needs writing!
Ok, I'll keep trying and who knows, I may become so-so at writing. Don't expect my latest publications at Borders. If I wrote a little more, I'd insert one of those side way smiley faces here.
Next time...
My friends would be proud!
